An exciting opportunity is now available for an Asset Management Engineer within the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) Capability Lifecycle Manager (CLCM) program based at Henderson, WA. The Asset Management Engineer is a member of the Engineering and Asset Management Team and accountable for the establishment and ongoing control of the assurance for asset management activities by the Integrated System Program Office.

Your unique skills will see you providing essential advice to support the decisions made by key internal and external stakeholders; ensuring the Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessels are supported across the full life cycle. The role involves direct engagement with peers, Australian Defence Force (‘ADF’) personnel, capability partners, technology support networks, sub-contractors and suppliers. This role will be responsible to the Systems Engineer – Logistics and will deliver a range of outcomes including, but not limited to:

Key Responsibilities
  • Identifying and understanding Asset Management problems and opportunities; synthesising solutions and presenting analysis to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Optimising maintenance strategies to promote the organisation’s recognised maintenance competence & market advantage;
  • Identifying improvements and efficiencies in ways of working, tactical and operational processes, and assessing spares holdings;
  • Maintenance data analysis, field verification, audits, optimisation & reporting
  • Liaising with other members of the organisation including the maintenance teams and with the customer to promote the importance of Asset Management within the lifecycle of the OPV;
  • Applying asset management competencies and related analysis activities, aligned to the requirements of defence
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Engineering degree or trade background in a relevant field (mechanical, electrical, power or rotating)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Maintenance or Logistics Engineering role in Defence, infrastructure, mining, utilities, or aviation
  • Proven experience in Maintenance Engineering (maintenance optimisation, technical writing, workshop facilitation, spares analysis, failure investigation, etc)
  • Experience with, and strong knowledge of, Asset Management ISO55000 series, Australian infrastructure regulations and standards
  • Solid foundation in data quality as it relates to maintenance and asset management, with additional analytical technical skills well regarded
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with both internal and external stakeholders
The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, achieve highest level of safety, quality of work and have a genuine passion for excellent customer service.
