We use an Agile/Scrum methodology and you’ll be involved in the full software development lifecycle. The technologies we have at our disposal are second to none, so you can also expect exposure to AWS, Java, Cucumber and everything in between.

You’ll be part of a growing, high-performing and truly agile team of specialist developers, testers and analysts drawn from diverse and interesting backgrounds. Having grown up in a military family and recently acquiring a masters degree in computing, Alice is one of our newer software engineers at our Gloucester branch. She tells us what it’s like to have just started a career in the cyber sector.

Summary of role

A fantastic opportunity to join Raytheon UK in our Cyber Centre based in Gloucester. Working for Raytheon you will be part of a growing team, working alongside world class partner organisations. Key Responsibilities
  • Creation of Infrastructure As Code and Dev Ops pipelines to automatically build and deploy system components in an Azure environment
  • Securing and monitoring the Azure environment by implementation of cloud best practice
  • Investigation and resolution of system component issues in a production environment
  • Responsible for reviewing team members deliverables and providing feedback & guidance
  • Supporting technical planning and management meetings
Candidate Requirements

Essential Skills
  • General working knowledge of Azure cloud services
  • Azure Dev Ops pipelines
  • Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Linux (RHEL)
  • Virtual Machines / Docker / AKS / Kubernetes / Helm containerization and orchestration
  • Azure CLI / Powershell / Python / Bash
Desirable skills (any of the following)
  • NodeJS
  • Software application support utilizing RDBMS (e.g. Oracle/MySQL) and/or unstructured persistence layers, (e.g. Elastic Search, Mongo DB)
  • Experience Working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery model
Qualifications

Degree in Numerate Subject essential or evidence of ongoing professional development.
